EDUCATION

While I was enrolled at J.R. Arnold High School in Panama City Beach, FL, I took a class called Design Portfolio. That’s when I got a taste of Photoshop and the wonderful world of digital publishing. After I graduated from high school in 2006, I decided to enroll in the new Digital Media/Multimedia Technology Associate’s program over at Gulf Coast Community College. There, I learned about digital media and the programs used to make it. After graduating with Cum Laude honors in 2009, I moved to Orlando, FL and enrolled at Full Sail University in their Digital Art & Design Bachelor’s program. In April 2011, after completing their accelerated program, I graduated Valedictorian of my class, received a Certificate of Excellence for being the final presenter in the Graduate Showcase, and received Course Director Awards for my projects in Developmental PsychologyDigital Publishing, and Motion Graphics.

EXPERIENCE

While I was enrolled at Gulf Coast Community College, I worked at Publix Super Market. However, bagging groceries and counting money wasn’t all that creative so I began looking for freelance jobs. Shortly after, I found myself doing some work for the Student Ministry at Gulf Beach Baptist Church designing logos, flyers, and even a water bottle label. During the same time, I began doing work for an online gaming website called Facility B5D. That allowed me make some new friends. One of them worked for a company called Aero Precision Engineering and they were looking for someone to design a logo for them. After making the logo, I moved to Orlando. There, I found myself working on another logo, this time for a start up company called Elven Labs Software Development. I even did a few 3D animations and motion graphic bumpers for another gaming website called GSPN but I had to stop doing freelance jobs because school was starting to get real demanding. I was able to squeeze in a few jobs doing some photography and retouching however for my friend’s company, Lucid Dream Designs. After a while, I moved back to Panama City Beach and found work at CYber SYtes, Inc. as a web designer. There, I learned a lot from the other talented designers about designing websites using WordPress and coding in PHP. I also got to make various logos, flyers, and illustrations for the company as well.
