Lights, Camera, Action!

Need a short video for a presentation touched up? Maybe you’re just looking for a short T.V. spot? Whatever the reason, you can bet that your video needs to be professional and eye catching. From pre-production to post-editing visual effects, let me help you make your next video project a hit. There’s a lot more to video production/editing than simply pointing a camera. From story boards to advanced recording techniques, I can help you tell your story. All you need to do is say lights, camera, action! Here are a few examples below and be sure to visit my portfolio to see more.

Video Production/Editing

Video production is a multi-step process. It starts with a story board, an outline of what you want to achieve. Then a script usually helps you remember what needs to be said. Finally, going out and getting the various shots. Rerecord the audio for ADR purposes. After all that, you need to edit it into a single flowing video. Add some basic transitions, effects, color correction and viola, your basic video cut is done.

Compositing

Sometimes you can’t get 2 things in the same shot at the same time – or it’s impossible because you don’t have access to a location or time period. That’s where compositing comes in. Compositing is a fancy way of saying “combine” and it’s used all the time in movies and T.V. Say you wanted a video that showed an astronaut floating in space. Well, unless you found stock footage of it or have the means to fly into space and get the shot yourself, it’s probably not going to be possible. However, we can shoot an astronaut pretending to be in space here on earth and composite it with a space background and fake it. This is done all the time to quickly place subject in a different location without actually having to go there and shoot it.

Visual Effects

Sometimes you need something to happen that wasn’t really caught on film. Like a UFO landing in your backyard or someone getting shot by a gun. That’s where visual effects proves it’s awesomeness. Literally, anything is possible with VFX. You could show things that would be too costly to actually recreate or things that would be too dangerous to do. Let me make the impossible possible for you with visual effects.
